In immediate danger?
Call 112 for police or an ambulance. It is free and works even without a SIM card or credit. The 112 Suomi app shares your location.
If you have experienced sexual violence, help is available and it is free. You have the right to medical care and support, whether or not you decide to report to the police.
Seri Support Centres are hospital-based and help anyone aged 16 or over, regardless of gender. It is best to contact them as soon as possible, but you can still get help up to about one month after the event. Trained nurses and midwives answer around the clock, and treatment and forensic tests are free of charge.
You can also call the Tukinainen rape crisis centre for confidential crisis support and separate legal advice.
Good to know
- Care at a Seri Support Centre is free, and staff answer 24 hours a day.
- You can get help even if some time has passed — up to about a month after the event.
- You decide whether to involve the police. Getting care does not require reporting.
- Support is available regardless of your gender or background.
